Description

Very small shell and wide, with a slightly angulated shoulder. Spire moderately high, the sutural ramps straight, with spiral striae. Shell color bluish-grey to geeenish, with two bands of light bluish dashes ( one below the central portion of the last whorl and the other between the first one and the shoulder); the dashes are of irregular shape, but usually form oblique or angular lines. Aperture dark bluish, with two light bands.

Radula: wide and broad radular tooth, with the apical portion shorter than half the total length of the tooth. Serration narrow, with 13 to 15 denticles in two rows.

Habitat & Habits

At rocks in shallow water.

Discussion

C. boavistensis is a bit similar to C. longilineus but the latter has a higher spire, the shell is longer, the shell color is in shades of green, has a different radular tooth and has a different range (Sal Island).
