Description

A thick shell, medium-sized, with a slightly pyriform profile, broad and angular shoulder, low spire, the sutural ramps with 2 or 3 spiral striae. The body whorl is ivory white, with a superimposed pattern of brown, usually thin, wavy lines. The anterior third of the shell is brown and there is usually a light band immediately above that brown area. The coloration of the spire matches that of the body whorl. Aperture white.

Radula: very broad radular tooth, the apical portion about half the total length of the tooth. Serration with very numerous small denticles in many rows.

Habitat & Habits

Shallow water.

Discussion

C. borgesi can be separated from C. cuneolus by its profile and spire sculpture and by the color of the aperture.
